Abdul Qader Tash
Former Senior columnist, Arab News, Al Madina newspapers (deceased)

Dr. Tash was born in Taif (Western Province), Saudi Arabia, in 1952, where he received his elementary and high school education.

His first degree was a BA degree in Arabic language and literature from Imam Mohamed Ibn Saud University, Riyadh, 1971-1975. He went on to take an MA degree in journalism and mass communications from Oklahoma University (Norman, OK, USA), 1978-1980, completing his doctoral studies in journalism and mass communication from Southern Illinois University.

He was chairman of the mass communication department at Imam M. Ibn Saud University and served as editor-in-chief of Al Muslimoon newspaper, a weekly Islamic publication (Jeddah), 1991-1994.

Dr. Tash is the author of several books in Arabic, including the following.

The Image of Islam and Arabs in the Western Media, 1989

Communication Studies, 1989

Muslims in Central Asia, 1992

America and Islam, 1993

He is currently a senior columnist in Arab News and writes a daily column in Al-Madina newspaper, a daily Arabic newspaper, both of which are published from Jeddah.
